Poached Pears!

What  a Delightful and pretty healthy dessert!  I have to apologize for not writing in months in the blog.  School got the best of me, though I still have been cooking some delightful meals.  Mostly repeats of what I put on here because my brain power for making up recipes has been used up by classes/music/stuff.

This recipe is simple:

Get as many pears as you want, this recipe was made for 5
3 cups of water
1/2 cup of sugar (brown or white)
1 tsp Almond extract
Cinnamon to taste
Nutmeg to taste
a dash of red wine, for color

Core the pears, try and leave the stem in (the presentation looks better if you do)
Bring the water mixture to a boil, insert the pears into the water.
After about 25-30 minutes push it with a fork to see if tender.
Remove pears, let sugar water simmer until it thickens.
Makes a wonderful Caramel sauce!

Enjoy!

Here’s some music
